Varifocal (progressive) lenses let you see far away, at intermediate distance and close up with the same pair of glasses. They are for anyone who needs help seeing close up and also at a distance, something common from your early forties, when age-related long-sightedness (presbyopia) sets in.

What it includes

We are specialists in Varilux varifocal lenses. We work with Varilux XR Pro, the most advanced range, and with Varilux Classic.

At the appointment:

  • We take measurements of your eyes and the frame with Visioffice.
  • We help you choose the frame. For glasses, we work with brands such as Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Silhouette, Carolina Herrera, Ultra Limited and Ray-Ban Meta. We are an official Ray-Ban Meta retailer and the exclusive Silhouette retailer in El Campello.
  • We explain how to get used to them.

How to get used to them

Varifocals have zones for each distance. At first, you need to learn to look through the right zone. We explain how to do it and, if you have questions later, come back and see us.

How long it takes and what it costs

The appointment takes about 60 minutes. It costs €25 and is free if you order your glasses from us. If you’d like to think it over, you have a month: order your glasses from us within that time and we’ll take the €25 off.

Who will see you

You will be seen by one of our optometrists, registered with the Colegio de Ópticos-Optometristas de la Comunitat Valenciana:

  • Antonia Marco Pérez, no. 5828.
  • Carolina Duque Tavira, no. 22985.
  • Mónica Bertomeu Mota, no. 27148.

We are a healthcare centre authorised by the Conselleria de Sanitat of the Generalitat Valenciana, under no. 1784.

How often to come in

With age, near vision usually keeps changing for a few years. That is why, as a general guide, it is a good idea to have your prescription checked once a year, or sooner if you notice you no longer see well with your varifocals.

What to bring

If you already have a recent prescription, bring it with you. If you wear varifocals or reading glasses, bring them too.

Where we are and how to book

We are in El Campello (Alicante), on the Costa Blanca, a stone’s throw from the sea: Avda La Mar. 19, 03560 El Campello. We have been an optician and hearing centre since 1992.

We can help you in Spanish, English and French.
